Info

İÇ İÇE, which means "intertwined" or "interwoven" in Turkish, is the first and only diversely positioned festival for new Anatolian music in Germany.

The Anatolian region has always been a melting pot for the most diverse cultural currents and musical traditions. Since the 60s at the latest, these have been unfolding anew in our immediate neighborhood and influencing our everyday life and nightlife, from the underground to pop culture. How artists reinterpret cultural fragments of their identities in a personal way, and thus make their place and voice heard in the societies they inhabit, is the core element of the multilingual and polyphonic festival.

Our team is made up of mostly queer and migrantized people who want to celebrate, empower, and further connect our communities with the help of music and art. Since 2021, we have invited people to BİZ BİZE in Körnerpark Neukölln on the day before the festival. With this intervention in public space, we celebrate art and culture that is free from the expectations of the dominant society.

İÇ İÇE is more than just a cultural event for us: it is a place of gathering and respectful exchange with each other through various formats and collaborations - in several cities. İÇ İÇE also performs outside of Berlin to reach people all over Germany, such as in Hamburg or Munich.
