On 28 May 2022 we bring back the hybrid sounds of Anatolia with İÇ İÇE to Festsaal Kreuzberg of Berlin!

After our premier in 2021 with Adir Jan, Daughters and Sons of Gastarbeiters, Gaddafi Gals, Ínsanlar, and many more, Festsaal Kreuzberg turns on the 28 May 2022 again into the meeting point of hybrid Anatolian sounds for the second edition İÇ İÇE.

İÇ İÇE, which means "intertwined" or "interwoven" in Turkish, is a festival for new Anatolian music.

The cross-genre music and cultural program demonstrates that sounds and words echo loudly across borders, contributing to the cultural merging of different spaces and biographies.

The Anatolian region has always been considered a melting pot for diverse cultural currents and musical traditions. Since the 1960s at the latest, these have been unfolding anew in our immediate neighborhood and influencing our everyday life and nightlife, from the underground to pop culture.

We understand how artists reinterpret cultural fragments of their origins in a personal way and thus create space and a voice for themselves in the societies that are home to them as a core element of this cultural format.

Based on this, İÇ İÇE stands for hybrid identities, the acceptance of multiple affiliations, and for life in the post-migrant society.
