JaHa is the sibling duo with Arabic roots from Cologne, who combine their trained singing voices with rap and create a safer space with their music. Jamilah (she/her) and Hadaya (she/they) have been on stage since the ages of seven and four, from cover performances at street festivals to established appearances in Cologne's feminist scene - with their own songs. The siblings are united by their political commitment, which is clearly evident in songs such as "Für meine Leute" from 2023. In 2023, they decided to take the path of creating a safer space with their songs through sensitivity to discrimination, which has had too small a place in the music industry to date. With a lot of stage experience and changing genres, JaHa celebrates a huge success in February 2024: the song "Braune Augen", released in February 2024, can be heard in the film adaptation of the novel "Ellbogen" by Fatma Aydemir and promises to underline the important message of the film.
