Madanii x Konzerthausorchester

EVENTS: Berlin 2026

MADANII is a genre-rebel, a barrier-breaking recording artist and creative instigator from Berlin. With an artistic vision rooted in persian culture and informed by her upbringing as the daughter of political refugees in germany, MADANII meshes rhythms, languages, politics, shapes and sounds into a neoteric musical and visual tapestry. MADANII tells an autobiographical story of otherness, un-belonging, and interweaving between cultures, struggles, generational dreams, political absurdities, and female love - all reflected in an unique style that touches on avant-pop, alternative r&b and trap. Widely known for her interdisciplinary approach, MADANII crafts a highly personal audiovisual journey for each of her songs with a clear artistic style and language that has earned her comparisons to the likes of sevdaliza, fka twigs or rosalía.

In more than 100 concerts per season, the Konzerthausorchester thrills audiences at home at Gendarmenmarkt and on tour. Founded in 1952 as the Berliner Sinfonie-Orchester, it has been known as the Konzerthausorchester Berlin since 2006. In its early days, from 1960 to 1977, the orchestra achieved its decisive profile and international recognition under chief conductor Kurt Sanderling. It received its own venue in 1984 with the reopening of the restored theatre on Gendarmenmarkt. From 2019 to 2023, Christoph Eschenbach was its chief conductor His predecessor, Iván Fischer, shaped the Konzerthausorchester from 2012 to 2018 and has been its honorary conductor ever since. Joana Mallwitz has been the new chief conductor since 2023/24.
