Zeynep Avcı was born in Berlin in 1983 as one of three children of a working-class family who came to Berlin from Zonguldak. Due to her early interest in music, she took singing lessons in Western music for four years at the age of 12. She then began to take Turkish art music theory and singing lessons. After completing her music education, she has been performing continuously on stage since the age of 18.
